Elaine Paige於1948年3月5日出生，己被譽為"英國劇場之第一夫人"。1978年，在"Evita"中她擔任伊娃的角色，迅速得到認同，1981年在"Cats"中扮演的基莉莎貝拉。此二劇中的角色使她名聲開始傳遍世界。她也先後在多部音樂劇中飾演女主角，包括"Billy"、"Grease"、"Jesus Christ Superstar"、"Hair"等等。之後她與ABBA合作演出兩套音樂劇"Abbacadabra"與"Chess"。除了音樂劇外，她有份去參予電視劇、電視訪問及舞台劇。
她的聲音可以很厚，又可以很薄，薄的時候很清，而厚的時候又不臃腫。另外在情感投射方面，她的感情亦算流露的不錯。
